Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

BookToAnki (booktoanki.com) is a vocabulary learning service that processes EPUB, PDF, and TXT uploads to extract words and build study decks. For privacy questions, account issues, billing questions, or copyright reports, contact us at contact@bkbr.net.

2. Data We Collect

Account Data

We use Google OAuth for sign-in. When you authenticate, we receive basic account information such as your name, email address, and profile image so we can create and maintain your account.

Uploaded File Content

Files you upload are stored only for as long as needed to process the job. After processing completes, the original uploaded file is deleted from our servers. We do not keep the original file available for later re-download.

Generated Content

We store the generated study data associated with your account, such as extracted vocabulary, translations, example sentences, deck titles, deck descriptions, and exportable deck content. This allows you to access, manage, and export your decks later.

If you choose to publish a deck publicly, information in that deck may become visible to other users and may be downloaded by them.

If a public deck is later deleted or made private, we can remove it from our service, but we cannot delete copies that other users already downloaded to their own devices.

Subscription Data

We store subscription-related information needed to manage access to paid features, such as your subscription status, billing plan, and payment identifiers received from Dodo Payments. We do not store full payment card details.

Usage & Technical Data

We collect technical and operational data such as request timestamps, error logs, job history, and similar service diagnostics. We use this information to operate the service, investigate failures, enforce limits, and detect abuse.

Session Cookies

We use authentication cookies to keep you signed in and protect your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and maintain your session
• To process uploaded files and generate vocabulary decks
• To store and manage your decks and exports
• To provide translation, vocabulary extraction, and related study features
• To manage subscriptions, billing state, and paid feature access
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and service overuse

4. Sharing and Third-Party Services

We share data only where needed to operate the service.

• Google — used for sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Dodo Payments — Merchant of Record for paid subscriptions. Dodo Payments handles payment processing and related billing data under its own terms and privacy practices. We receive only the billing information needed to confirm and manage subscription status.

We do not sell personal data or share it for third-party advertising.

5. Data Retention

Uploaded source files are deleted after processing and are not retained for later download. Account information, generated decks, and related study data are retained while your account remains active or until you delete that content, subject to reasonable backup, security, and legal retention needs.

Operational logs may be kept for a limited period to maintain reliability, investigate abuse, and troubleshoot incidents.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or request a copy of your personal data. To make a request, contact us at contact@bkbr.net.

If you are based in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Children's Privacy

BookToAnki is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date below reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the service after an update means the revised policy applies going forward.
